Picrorhiza kurroa - a perennial woody herb widely used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat a variety of diseases, especially liver disorders and respiratory problems. Picroliv^® is the standardized extract from P. kurroa and studies have shown that it is capable of protecting the liver against chemicals and micro-organisms. The hepatoprotective effects of Picroliv^® were found to be more potent than Silymarin (obtained from the seeds of milk thistle, Silybum marianum) in maintaining healthy liver functions.
